Top Questions About Webcam Modeling

Here are the most frequently asked questions about webcam modeling and working as a cam model at New Industry Models. If you can't find the answer to your question here, please contact us.

  • How much do webcam models make?

The short answer is our webcam models average $75 per hour, taking home $6000 per month, and that's working only 20 hours per week.

Webcam modeling isn't like most jobs where you have a set hourly rate. Instead, as a cam model you are paid per minute by customers during private paid sessions. There are two types of paid live sessions, each with a different rate. Your rates can go up over time, but the first rates we start you at break down as follows:

    Premium
This type of private session allows multiple customers. Your per minute rate will be multiplied by the number of customers and the number of minutes they stay in the paid session. For example if you have 5 customers in Premium for 5 minutes, you'll make $20 in 5 minutes. (That is with a Premium starting base rate of 80¢ per minute.)

    Exclusive
This type of private session is for one customer at a time. Your per minute rate will be multiplied by the number of minutes the customer stays in the paid session. For example if you have a customer in Exclusive for an hour you'll make $96 per hour. (The starting exclusive rate per minute is $1.60 per minute.)

Our models average $75 per hour, but prepared for a discouraging first day. Most models make under $100 their first day, but you can expect your earnings to increase exponentially every week. The chart below shows the typical growth rate we see the first month at New Industry Models.

A thart titled Webcam Model Earnings First 6 Weeks Typical Growth Rate that shows model average earnings of $400 the first week they cam and up to $2000 by week 6 if they are working consistantly

  • Are there any fees or deductions?

No. Unlike other webcam studios, our Los Angeles webcam studio is open 7 days a week and free of charge for you to use. New Industry Models does not make any deductions or charge any fees of any kind to our models. What you see that you made online is exactly the amount you are paid, not a penny less.

  • How are models paid for webcam modeling?

New Industry Models pays weekly. Payments are sent out every Tuesday through our parent company. You can choose to be paid through Zelle, Cash App, or Google Pay.

  • How does New Industry Models make money?

New Industry Models makes money by taking percentage directly from the customers. They are paying a higher per-minute rate than what you earn.

  • What percentage does the studio take?

Our customer-facing site, NIMGirls.com is powered by the largest webcamming network in the world, Streamate. Our agreement with Streamate gives them 65% of what the customer spends, which is used to run the site, advertise, and process the transactions. Our models get 20% and we use the remaining 15% to operate our studio and promote the site.

  • Is webcam modeling safe?

Camming at New Industry Models is completely safe. Online, customer have no access to your information. Our studio is in a secure building with 24-7 monitored security cameras. • What if someone I know sees me webcamming?

Everyone worries about this, but being seen by someone you know while camming is extremely unlikely to happen. There are over a 1000 models live on our site at any time, and someone you know would have to be on our site while you are working and also pick you out of those 100 or more models. In any event, this can be prevented entirely by blocking the cities where you know people, for additional peace of mind.

  • Can customers figure out where I am?

Never. Your video stream is routed through servers at several other locations and then to the customer. There is no way for them to even know what state it is coming from. The only way a customer can figure out where you are is if you give them clues. Read more about protecting your privacy in our webcamming safety tips.

  • Will I have to webcam with anyone else?

Never. We will never ask you to perform with anyone else. Our models make more money working separately.

  • Can I be recorded when I'm camming?

It is against the terms and conditions on our site, but a customer could potentially record you. Any computer can run screen recording software and we can't control what customers do with their computers. However this is extremely rare. If a customer did record you, it would likely be for their own personal viewing and not for the purpose of sharing. In the unlikely event someone does record and upload a private session we have steps to become alerted to it and can issue DMCA takedown notices, forcing any company to take the video down within 24 hours.

  • Do I have to show my face webcamming?

Yes. Your customers will be paying to have a conversation with you more than anything else! They will definitely want to see the face of the person they're chatting with. They want to fall in love with you and your face will make that happen.

  • What do you have to do on cam?

There is actually nothing specific that you have to do. You can expect to be asked to take off your clothes and touch yourself, but we want you to set your own limits. We have many models that rarely if ever take off their clothes. Don't be afraid to say no to a customer request you don't like. Don't do anything that you are uncomfortable with. Don't discuss topics that you are uncomfortable with. Stay in your comfort zone. Keep it lighthearted and fun so you enjoy your job!

  • What if I'm bad at camming or no one likes me?

There are customers on our site looking for every type of model. Tall, short, skinny, thick - there are customers on our site that will think you are their perfect dream girl. Be prepared: Most models have a discouraging first day, but that doesn't mean you're bad at it. If you stick with it and follow our training and coaching, you'll end up making tons of money and having lots of fun doing it!

How Our Webcam Site Works

A screenshot showing many cam models live working webcam model jobs that pay the most

A customer comes to our cam site and sees photos of the cam models that are currently online. He finds a model he likes and clicks on her picture to go to her page.

Screen shot of a webcam model live stream feed on the top paying cam model site. A pretty female model working the highest paying webcam model job is sitting on a bed smiling at the camera while wearing a pajama top.

On the model’s page, the customer will see the live video stream of the model, unless the model is in a paid private session. In the free area, the model remains clothed and talks with the customers in the chat.

Customers start a paid private session by clicking the big blue button under the video. Unlike other sites, all of the customers on our site are registered members, with credit cards on file. They spend money!

When a customer starts a paid session, anyone left in the free area loses the video feed and is shown a message asking them to pay and enter the show.

There are two types of paid sessions: The first type is called Premium and allows multiple customers. Each customer is paying per minute to view a model's private paid session.

The second type of session is called Exclusive and is for a customer that wants to watch the model without anyone else watching or interrupting. For this privilege the customer pays double.

As soon as a model finishes a paid session, she can see how much she earned in that session, and how much she has made for the day, for the week, and how much her next check will be. We pay out the full amount shown. We don't make any deductions of any kind from the earnings displayed on our site.

Webcam Modeling Safety Tips

It's important to stay safe webcamming, even if you're not working at New Industry Models. Here are some important tips for staying safe while webcam modeling.

Don't Click Any Links
Don't click on links or go to websites provided by your customers. This could reveal your approximate location or other information.

Don't Call Any Phone Numbers
Don't call or text any phone numbers provided by your customers, even using a *67 or an app. A customer might make excuses like they can't make their microphone work or offer you money, but don’t do it. The safest way to make money is through the site.

Protecting Your Personal Information
Never make the mistake of trusting a customer with any real personal information. Keep the online fantasy intact at all times. Always assume your customers are misrepresenting themselves in some way, too. Never have any communication with customers outside of our site.

Don't reveal the following information to any customer:
• Phone Number (even an app based one)
• Email Address
• Home, Work, or Studio Location
• Social Network
• Messaging Apps

Use A Fake "Real" Name
Have a fake "real name" you consistently give your special customers when they eventually ask. Make that second name hard to get out of you, as if it is your real name. Never actually give out your real name, no matter how much you feel like you know them.

Keep Your Location Vague
Most models tell customers they are from a state other than the one they truly live in. Just make sure you stick to the same fake location. It's ok to provide your real state, but don't provide your city. Avoid topics such as local news or events. Talking about a concert you went to last night would easily give away your true location.

Be Careful With Photos
Photos you've posted online before shouldn't be shared with your customers. If a photo has ever been used on any of your real life accounts, Google image search can lead a customer right to it. Keep photos from your real life and photos shared with your customers completely separate.
