How Being a Webcam girl Is Like Being a Salesperson – By Kate

Hi Everyone! I’m Kate, and I’ve been a webcam girl or model at NIM for a little over three years. I’m in my mid-40s and love all the attention from camming. It’s a fun and safe outlet, and I make a bunch of money working part-time. I’ll tell you here what worked for me when I first started. Remember, this is my opinion and won’t necessarily work for everyone.

I think the right way to webcam girl is to mix a little bit of your personality, a little bit of bubbly girl-next-door, and a little bit of sexuality to create an exciting and entertaining room.

However, what’s important is focusing on getting into a paid session and staying in as long as possible. Here’s some ideas on how to accomplish this:

When you’re in free chat with a webcam girl, the goal is to get the customers in your room to take you into a paid session. Aside from the occasional tip, you aren’t making any money in free chat, so focusing on getting paid sessions is essential.

The truth is that webcam modeling is a lot like sales; the only difference is that while the girl who works at Home Depot is trying to get you to buy a hose or a saw, a girl who webcam girl is trying to get you to buy a show.

You always want to be in control of the conversation that goes on in your room. The last thing you want to do is sit there and wait for them to initiate a conversation.

Talk as much as you can. This may not be entirely natural for you at first, but the more you do it, the easier it will become.

If someone comes into your room and starts making demands like “Show me your feet,” “Stand up,” or worse yet, “If you flash me right now, I’ll take you for a show,” remember that these are not the kind of customers you want. Nine times out of 10, a customer who makes demands of you in free chat is just looking for a free show.

Not only are they not going to take you for a paid session, but they aren’t going to take any other webcam girl. Don’t bend over backward to please these customers. You’ll also come across customers sitting in your room for extended periods doing anything but mindlessly chatting. They aren’t planning on taking you for a show. Instead, they’re just using webcam rooms as a sexy fishbowl.

Make sure to let these types of customers overwhelm you. You also want to ensure the number of names coming in and out of your room and the number of comments typed into your chat is manageable for you. It’s important to feel in control of your room as much as possible.

In most conversations, the person who’s asking the questions is the one who is in control. This means that it’s okay to answer their question with a question, it’s okay to ignore customers if you need to, and it’s even okay to pose a question to the whole room.

Again, no one is paying you in free chat, so if they want your attention, they are more than welcome to take you for a show. This doesn’t mean that if you have a customer who seems to be genuinely interested in you, is kind and courteous to you, and is interesting to talk to, you shouldn’t engage them, but it does mean that you don’t have to jump every time someone asks to do something.

Remember, it’s your room, and don’t let customers steamroll you.

Being able to sell your show in free chat is very important, and it’s a good idea to try something like this:

1. “Hi (screen name), welcome to my room! “

2. “How are you (screen name)?”

3. “So what brings you to my room today/tonight (screen name)?”

4. “Do you come on here often? I don’t think we’ve ever chatted before.”

5. “Tell me something you like to do in your private shows (screen name).” (As long as what they’re saying makes you comfortable, then go into detail about how much fun that sounds and how you’d love to do something like that.)

6. “Well, just so you know a little about me (screen name), I’m (tell them a short bit about yourself. I’m in college, and I love to have fun or I’m a housewife and I always get lonely during the day, etc.) I love doing shows and creating something custom and special for my customers in private, so we both have a great experience. So if you’re interested, I would love to have fun with you.”

IF YOU HAVE TO ASK A CUSTOMER MORE THAN 3 TIMES TO GO PRIVATE WITH YOU, THEN FEEL FREE TO IGNORE HIM!

“It looks like you aren’t ready to go for a show (screen name). It’s too bad. I was looking forward to playing with you. Oh well. If you change your mind, you know where to find me.”

Then you want to IGNORE him entirely.

It’s important to remember that when you’re in free chat, you always want to say the customer’s screen name when you’re talking to them because if you don’t, they may not know who in your room you’re talking to.

It’s not a good idea to say the same thing to everyone in your room, but this is an excellent way to control the conversation and immediately direct their attention to a paid show. Other people will come into your room while you’re trying to make a sale with another customer and start a conversation; stay focused on this. You can answer the other customers if you’d like, but the only essential messages are any that have to do with paid sessions.

For example, if you’re talking to one customer and trying to give them your pitch, and someone comes in saying, “You have a great body,” that’s not necessarily important. You can acknowledge it if you want to, but you don’t need to turn it into a long conversation. However, if another customer comes in and says, “Are you ready for private?” or “Do you have heels for private?” or something like that, you want to turn your attention immediately to the customer who is ready for a show.

The important thing is to identify who is willing and ready to take you for a show as soon as possible and not spend a lot of time in free chat making friends. Sure, there are plenty of friendly people online who may be interesting to talk to, but if you get stuck making friends, you’ll end up in free chat for much longer than you’d like.

The next thing you need to remember is the rule of three strikes

When a customer comes into your room, you want to wait to ask for privates or exclusives. You must break the ice and assure your customers they are in good hands when choosing you for a show. However, you also want to spend only some days trying to sell to a customer who isn’t interested. If you’ve been talking to a customer for more than 3 -5 minutes and they still need to be more interested in taking you, then it’s time to request a show. There are many ways to do this without sounding money-hungry or rude. Things like “Let’s go have some fun,” “I would love to go play right now,” and “Are you ready to let me give you a show?” work well in these cases. However, if none of this works, you need to start wrapping it up. Saying something like, “It looks like you aren’t ready for a show. Too bad I was looking forward to having some fun. I’ll be here if you change your mind.” and then it’s best to ignore this customer. They will keep trying to chat with you, but at this point, he doesn’t get any more attention from you unless he takes you for a show.

Then start over with someone else in your room and continue this process until you end up in a private show.

CLOSE THE DEAL

1. BE WELCOMING AND SMILE WHEN THEY COME IN YOUR ROOM

2. ASK THEM A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT THEMSELVES TO SEEM INTERESTED

3. FIND OUT WHAT KIND OF SHOW THEY LIKE

4. GIVE THEM A REASON TO TAKE YOU BY TELLING THEM HOW MUCH YOU LIKE THEIR IDEAS AND WHAT KIND OF SHOW YOU CAN PROVIDE

4. ASK THEM TO TAKE YOU FOR A SHOW

That’s it! I hope that helps some of you new girls out there! If you see me at the studio, come say hi! 😉
