The Top 10 Best Webcam Modeling Tips of 2017
1. Have Patience
It’s a good idea to treat your webcam customers, especially new ones, like you’re dating them. You don’t meet someone in real life, start up a conversation, and after a few seconds start demanding their money. Instead you talk to them, get to know them, find out what they like, and eventually that person starts wanting to spend their time and money on you.
Many models forget this or they’re too driven to make money to realize it but it’s impossible to build regular customers if you’re not willing to build a relationship with them.
While you want to steer clear of free loaders or customers that might try to trick you into doing shows for free you also have to remember to take your time and be patient. Don’t allow your customers to take advantage of you but also don’t allow yourself to lose out on a possible regular by rushing them into a show.
2. Kindness is Key
Regardless of how long you’ve been webcam modeling it’s important not get jaded. Sure, there are days where your room is going to be slow or you’re going to have other things going on in your life that put you in a less than perfect mood. All of this is normal but if you can’t be kind to your customers there’s no way that you’re going to succeed. Remember, even though you can’t always see who’s on the other end of the screen it is a human being with feelings and emotions. If you treat them well, they will treat you well in return.
3. Generosity
This may seem strange given that as a webcam model you’re on the receiving end of money and gifts from customers. However, you can be generous in other ways. Your time and compassion are a huge factor in your relationship with your customers. So if they are investing in you financially you need to invest in them as a person. Find out who they are, what they care about, try to remember as much information as you can (if you have a hard time remembering, take notes). The only time a customer is going to feel like they’re being taken advantage of is if they’re not getting something in return so make sure that you’re always giving when you’re receiving.
Let me give you an example from my own personal webcam career. I have a customer who has been with me for nearly 4 years. We do a weekly show where I make roughly $100 each time he logs on not to mention that he buys me at least 2 or 3 things from my wishlist. This means that I’ve made $400 a month for YEARS off of just this one customer. Why? Well, when I first started webcam modeling he would take me on the occasional short show, said very little, and logged off. Then after a few weeks of this he sent me a message saying that he wouldn’t be on much because his father had just passed away. Unfortunately, my father had just passed away a few months earlier. So I explained to him that I knew what he was going through and that if he ever needed someone to talk to that understood what he was going through that he could send me a message any time whether he was spending money or not. We chatted back and forth for months and I was his support system despite the fact that he didn’t take me for any shows during this time. Because I engaged with him and treated him generously he has been loyal to me for all of this time.
Anyone can get online and give a show but often times customers need a lot more than that and if you can give them that they will definitely reward you for it.
4. Always keep a conversation going
You don’t want to be the girl in a room with 3 customers begging for tips or shows. When a customer logs in the room he wants a see a girl with personality who wants to get to know them. A viewer can’t make any sort of connection with you if all you’re doing is begging for money. If you want to customer to feel welcome in your room and enjoy being there then you have a be a good conversationlist. This isn’t always second nature to a model but the more comfortable you are taking to your customers and the more fun you have doing it the more you’re going to succeed.
5. Always ask questions
If you’re having a hard time with conversation the best thing to do is to ask questions and ask them often. Whether we admit it or not we as people like to talk about ourselves so that more questions you ask the more likely you are to keep your customers talking. Remember, that any question can lead to more questions. For example, if you ask someone where they live and they tell you Minnesota you can also ask them how they like living there, what the weather is like there this time of year, if they have always lived there or if they moved there from another place, etc.
It also helps to be a good listener. Don’t just ask questions and then sit around waiting for your turn to say something again. Really process what your customers and find out who you’re talking to. As I said before, if you have a hard time remembering things about your customers, feel free to take notes. The more you remember the more important they feel.
6. Honesty is the best policy
This can seem kind of counter intuitive. A lot of girls who go into webcam modeling want to remain anonymous and so they come up with very elaborate back stories and try to make themselves as desirable to customers as they can by telling them what they think they want to hear.
It’s important to remember that while you’re webcam modeling you’re safe. There’s no way for a customer to find out your personal information and there’s no way for you to find out their information. As long as you respect the rules and don’t give out your contact information to a customer then you don’t have to worry about making yourself different because there’s no way for a customer to find you outside the website.
You also don’t have to be perfect. If perfection was the only thing that turned customers on then there would be no market for webcam modeling. The customers would simply seek out pornography where the women have surgical enhancements, hair and makeup artists, and a professional lighting crew. Using a long list of fake information to make it seem like you’re this perfect 21 year old, co-ed, who doesn’t have any children, and is completely single isn’t going to serve you unless that’s true. The average customer wants to connect with a real person so don’t be afraid to tell the customers what you like, dislike, and what’s really going on in your life. The likelihood is that you’ll find someone who can relate and you’ll be able to develop a connection with them.
8. Keep an open mind
When you’re webcam modeling you’re going to meet a number of different types of customers. Some of those customers are going to be pretty normal and their requests are going to be pretty vanilla. However, there are also those that find that being behind a screen allows them to let loose and explore fetishes and fantasies that they might be judged for in everyday life. Many of these fetishes and fantasies will be new to you when you first start webcam modeling so it’s important to keep an open mind. Now, don’t let this scare you. You’re never expected to do or talk about anything that you’re not comfortable with but it’s also a good idea to be willing to hear your customers out and not just turn something down because it’s something you’ve never heard of.
You never know, you may find that you’re very good at a kind of show you’ve never done before and that will open you up to more money making opportunities. So if a customer asks you for something that’s new to you, ask them questions and if you’re comfortable give it a try. If you’re feeling insecure about it let them know it’s your first time doing something like this, usually customers are really understanding if you’re just honest with them. They’d rather guide you through what they like than have you pretend to be a pro.
9. Always do your best
It probably goes without saying that if you put your best effort into what you do then you’ll see results. This is true for everything, not just webcam modeling but it’s especially important when you’re just starting this career. The more that you put into it the more you’ll get out of it so if you genuinely want to learn, you are always kind and polite to your customers, and you try to give the best show you possibly can then there’s no reason you can’t make amazing money.
It’s also important to remember that the first impression you give your customers will go a long way. If a customer comes into a room where a model is rude, sarcastic, or bored they aren’t going to want to come back so make sure you greet your customers, smile, and make it seem like being in your room is always a good time.
10. Have fun and be fun.
As I mentioned above a room with a happy and outgoing webcam model is exactly the kind of a room a customer wants to be in. Giggle, smile, flirt, and genuinely look as though you’re enjoying your work. If you do that then the customers will genuinely enjoy being in your room. Even if you’re having a hard day try to push through that and let the fun you’re having in your cam room put you in a better mood. If you do this you will keep repeat customers coming back day after day because they know that coming in your room will make their day better as well.
